poem from the theological meeting

paul travelled through water and fire
and was beaten and imprisoned
and eventually killed
because of his passion to see the story of jesus
becoming true in small communities

i flew over 3000 miles of the united states
my feet never touching the ground
and complained about the spacing between the seats
and the difficulty of the time change

which i got over
in time to complain about
the quality of the discussion
of the narrative hermeneutic
